Role Summary



This role contributes towards the delivery of insurance software product enhancements as part of an agile team operating within a wider development product development team of teams through the delivery of high-quality code to existing code standards.

Work with the team in all planning, reporting and retrospective activities to ensure a continuous improvement culture is fostered and enhanced.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Contribute to quarterly release planning and fortnightly sprint planning activities, ensuring features are delivered as planned to a high level of quality with little or no re-work required.

Delivery of high quality, maintainable, unit tested code that consistently achieves successful peer review.

Undertake peer reviews to ensure quality and coding standards are adhered to by all members of the team

Assist in design, development, review and execution of system test scripts as needed.

Profil recherché :

Essential Skills/Qualifications

Solid experience of developing enterprise-grade applications using the .NET platform (preferably .Net Core) and web UI development using appropriate design patterns and application frameworks (such as MVC, Angular, React, etc.)

Full understanding of mainstream development tools such as Visual Studio, VS Code, etc.

Extensive SQL experience (preferably SQL Server)

Demonstrable working knowledge of source control management and code deployment (versioning, branching, releases, service packs, etc.). Experience of GitHub would be ideal.

Experience and understanding of software architecture and platforms such as Docker and IIS

Demonstrable working knowledge of service and/or web development using related technologies.

Good judgment, issue management, and problem analysis and resolution techniques.

A high level of attention to detail with strong technical documentation skills

Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team, often with minimal guidance.

Time management and prioritisation skills. Balancing priorities on simultaneous projects.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications

Experience in development of cloud based microservice architecture and service-oriented solutions (preferably using AWS technologies)

Experience is development of REST APIs (preferably level 3, HATEOAS)

Knowledge of the Insurance industry and its processes and procedures gained through direct experience.

Proficiency in Agile development methodologies, ideally SAFe.
