What will I be doing ?

  • As Hotel Marketing and Communications Manager, you will develop and implement the marketing plan and activities for the hotel to increase brand awareness, communicate promotions to all relevant target markets and address hotel business needs. Specifically, you will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

What are we looking for ?

  • A Hotel Marketing and Communications Manager serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

PR Activities & Marketing

  • Ensure the commercial success of the property by effective Marketing initiatives

  • Correct image and representation of the hotel in a dignified form towards customers and negotiating partners

  • Directs the hotel in the development, implementation and achievement of their annual business and market plan objectives

  • Provides guidance and assistance relating to the execution of marketing and ecommerce functions, policies and standards as established by the Hotel. Attends executive meetings. Balances time effectively as needed

  • Capitalizes on Hilton Worldwide marketing, sales programs and resources

  • Actively participates in the ‘sales processes via customer meetings, entertainment and attendance at client and other relevant industry events

  • Joint marketing initiative engagement and other hotel/brand synergies to maximize exposure and profitability including agency contact, media planning and hotel communications.

  • Directs the solicitation efforts of the sales team through effective oral and written communication while providing strategic commercial marketing activities

  • Creates and implements strategic and tactical marketing plans to maintain current base and increase the hotel’s share in transient market

  • Prepares reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales and Marketing Department to include, but not limited to the Marketing Budget & Marketing Meeting Minutes

  • Creating, executing & updating of the property Marketing Plan and activities month to month. As well as provide monthly marketing feedback to owners

  • Doing quarterly researches of the local industry and national market to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies

  • Coordination and implementation of communication plan for the hotel activities and promotions in coordination with various revenue-earning departments in the hotel (i.e. sales, food and beverage, spa etc.)

  • Development of good relations with the media (print, broadcast, etc.) and implementation of the hotel’s publicity campaign

  • Management of a complete, targeted database and direct mail campaigns to promote hotel business.

  • Overall supervision of production of hotel printed materials to ensure compliance with Hilton Identity Guidelines

  • Ensure contents of hotel web pages are updated at all times

  • Monitoring and control of expenses based on approved Marketing budget

  • To ensure press releases are sent to all local & regional newspapers and magazines on all happenings/ events in the hotel

  • To coordinate with all activities concerning publicity in film shooting, photo shooting, interviews by local & overseas media etc

  • To maintain stock inventory of an updated photo library and press kit

  • To support Director of Sales for the preparation, planning and execution of the hotel’s public relations activities plan

  • Maintain update profiles of the hotel’s key personnel

  • Constructing creative and relevant content and visuals for all social media platforms

  • Monthly social media calendar creation and management

  • Manage the social media platform by constantly updating where necessary

  • Reputation management via reviews and social media messages

  • Management of Bloggers and Influencers (including media sites or trips) as well as report on media content gained

  • Creation and distribution of press releases

  • Quarterly updates of factual information and updating of images. Maintain 100% completion rate.

  • Manage, review and create special offers via relevant travel sites.

Customer

  • Maintains a high guest service focus through a “Can Do (Vibrant = STAR) …” & flexible attitude.

  • Always try to go the “extra mile” with every single guest and anticipate his/her needs

  • Regular attendance is essential to the successful performance of this position

 

Market Analysis & Trends

  • Ensure that Marketing is the interface and connected link to commercial excellence

  • Perform critical analysis.

  • Manage extensive amounts of information and provides constructive feedback.

  • Knowledge of marketing, negotiating and sales procedures associated with the hotel industry.

  • Excellent written skills sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication that properly reflects the Hilton Image.

  • Work effectively both independently and as a team.

  • Manage and organize complex projects and establishes priorities consistent with department/hotel objectives.

  • Effectively deal with department heads, customers and team members, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.

  • Manage multiple projects, meet and work effectively under time and resource constraints

  • Develop and maintain excellent product knowledge and use it to deliver the benefits of the product to the client

  • To obtain full knowledge of Competitors products to understand the market place

  • Know all the functions of the computer system and eliminate minor errors in the software itself as required.

  • Safety, Security & Pandemic Response

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

  • To act on your responsibilities for Health & Safety at work.

  • To demonstrate a working knowledge of fire prevention and to follow hotel evacuation plan on hearing the alarm.

  • To adhere to all Food Safety requirements within the operation.

  • To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene at all times.

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • French and English speaking required: any other additional language is a plus

  • Resort Experience is a plus

  • Luxury Experience required

  • Have been in a managerial position for at least 2 years

  • Transformational leadership skills, utmost creative and energetic/passionate

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills

  • Previous experience of working in a marketing and PR role in the hotel industry

  • Experience of working with key marketing partnerships, media and design agencies

  • Master’s degree in Business, Communications or Marketing

  • Qualifications or courses relating to creative, descriptive or effective writing.
