We are recruiting aHead of Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT)(M/F) for our client,a leading CDMOin Africa.

Primary Responsibilities:

• In charge of Tech Transfer with laboratories;
• Plantscale up;
• Responsible for smooth manufacturing operation and control;
• Responsible for safe, reliable, cost-effective and efficient operation of the Manufacturing, Science and Technology (MSAT) function;
• Responsible to enable excellence in manufacturing by providing manufacturing technical support to the production organizationthat results in safe, compliant, high quality and continuously improving production;
• Product technical investigations management;
• Production process monitoring and continuous improvements;
• Production equipment performance qualification;
• Performsall troubleshooting, process changes and validation;
• Participates in the implementation of analysis and production standards between the labs and the production for the chemistry and microbiology parts;
• Support R&D activities for device development;
• Research potential new manufacturing technologies;
• Consistently meet time-sensitive goals;
• Performs all functions associated with leading the Bioscience MSAT organization. This includes a focus on safety, resource planning, oversight of the work deliverables, oversight of group budgetary performance, oversight of the teams quality/compliance performance, providing guidance and advice on the company's policy and procedures, mediating conflicts, providing manufacturing and science technical input, customer/network/regulatory interaction, providing guidance on company strategy, prioritizing work and assisting in establishing long term group direction and objectives;
• Coaching and development of MSAT Team;
• Engage with program managers and directly with the customers to ensure projects are planned and executed appropriately in order to deliver to, and meet the needs of the customers and the business;
• Lead cross-functionally with management, support departments, and customers to achieve the vision and strategy. Manage a high-performance team that emphasizes strengths-based execution, accountability, open communication, people development and continuous improvement;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Science (Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering/Bioengineering/Life Sciences or related studies);
• Min 10 yearsexperiencein pharmaceutical manufacturing, technology transfer and process development, validation;
• PMO experience;
• Proven experience in setting up an efficient MSATfunction ata new structure highly preferred;
• Proven track record of either design, qualification, start-up or initial licensure of Biologics Manufacturing. facilities preferred;
• High English proficiency;
• Strong communication and interpersonnal skills;
• Ability to think critically, and possess troubleshooting and problem solving skills;
• Able to work independently, self-starter, self-motivated and task oriented;
