Livera is a North-African grocery delivery start-up based out of Rabat, Morocco. The grocery delivery market and customer trends are evolving and in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, customers are more willing to opt for technology as a solution for their daily needs. Shopping in conventional ways is quickly becoming the thing of the past and consumers value the time and effort that can be saved by opting for online solutions.
At Livera, we want our customers to have time to focus on the important things in life. Our mission is to transform our customers lives in such a way that they never look back. Our user-friendly app allows customers to choose from a selection of local shops displayed in our marketplace-style platform. As the customer changes location, so do the shops around them, allowing our clients to contribute to the local industry, to choose from a vast selection of locations and to obtain necessities quickly almost anywhere.
Our app also gives local shopkeepers the opportunity to compete with large chain supermarkets in a post-pandemic world, ensuring that hard working merchants with a well-managed inventory will receive the clients they deserve without having to engage in elaborate marketing efforts or lead generation. We are developing close relationships with local shops in every major area of every city in North Africa. This approach ensures that we have total visibility on the management of the shop and can resolve any customer service issues long before they occur. Likewise, we have a team of customer service representatives, drivers, pickers and training personnel that ensure that every order is taken care of with the utmost care.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO and Senior Manager, the Accountant will join our growing team. The Accountant will play an integral role in the annual and monthly filings and general upkeep of healthy accounting practices in Livera. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of work experience which includes accounting operations, month-end close, and managing complex projects. Livera is a start-up and as such every new hire will likely be asked to get involved in a variety of matters outside their areas of competence. The perfect candidate will be a willing to take on such additional responsibility, be deadline and detail oriented and possess the ability to think and react quickly. Candidate should have the ability to interact with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Sales, Sales Operations, Billing, and Legal. Our ideal candidate is a great problem solver and communicator.
What Youll Do
- Assist in the monthly close process, which includes recording and reviewing journal entries; preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and researching fluxes.
- Manage the infrastructure accounting end to end processes for data centers
- Monitor and analyze infrastructure and cloud hosting cost trends and forecast future costs
- Coordinate audit and tax requests including preparation of supporting reports and documentation.
- Complete complex research and inquiries of GL transactions and activities.
- Continuously identify and develop solutions for process improvement.
- Assist with accounting integration activities, which includes implementing a variety of finance and accounting related software solutions.
- Assist in development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Assist in accounting for commissions
- Other projects as assigned based on business needs.
What Youll Need
- A professional level of English fluency, to be able to communicate with an exclusively English-speaking CEO
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar role and CPA is a plus.
- Candidate should be self-motivated, able to effectively prioritize responsibilities, work within tight deadlines, and work in a dynamic environment.
- Superior poise and professionalism.
- Must be able to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, be a team player, and willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement.
- High-tech, start-up and/or rapid growth company experience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP functions, etc.) a Plus.
- ERP (accounting software package) experience is required. NetSuite experience is preferred.
Working at Livera:
The Accountant would be hired as a freelancer (auto-entrepreneur) for the initial period. Depending on their performance they me onboarded as a full-time employee. The Accountant will be hired for a full-time position however the working hours would be irregular (for example the accountant would need to work on the weekend but not on Monday or Tuesday).
