Duties:
1. Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from suppliers and outgoing products for shipping/dispatch;
2. Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations;
3. Read and understand material and product specification requirement;
4. Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications;
5. Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control;
6. Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records;
7. Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence;
8. Supervise the production process;
9. Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner;
10. Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identify the best people for the job in quality control unit.
Skills:
1. Math skills – Knowledge of basic math and computer skills are important because measuring, calibrating, and calculating specifications are major parts of quality control testing;
2. Technical and Mechanical skills – Must be able to use specialized tools and equipment when testing materials and products;
3. Computer skills – Must be familiar with Office applications i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point. Familiarity to some other statistics process control applications is an advantage;
4. Detail Oriented – To spot issues and monitor products or materials that do not meet compliance;
5. Physical Strength and Stamina – Be able to spend long periods of time standing and may be required to lift heavy objects;
Education, Training and Experience Requirement:
1. Preferably with College degree in Science. Related study in industrial trade or vocational program or High school diploma or equivalent qualification may be considered upon assessment;
2. Certification in quality control is preferred;
3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in FMCG, cosmetics, paper, hygienic product industry or a similar role;
